The Shenandoah valley is one of the world's richest, most fertile valleys. In 1984, within this mountain-guarded region, near Winchester, Virginia - just west of Washington D.C., Joy and Carey Lokey began L'Esprit De Campagne. L'Esprit is now the largest farm based manufacturer on the East Coast of Sun-Ripened Dried Tomatoes and Dried Fruits.

L'Esprit processes, packages, and distributes L'Esprit Virginia Sun-Ripened Dried Roma Tomatoes and Dried Fruits nationwide. Their retail products can be found in gourmet specialty food shops, supermarkets, or ordered directly from L'Esprit's Mail Order Department. Our nationwide distribution network provides sales to the Retail, Industrial, Food Service, and Restaurant trades.

Grown on small farms like their own, L'Esprit's tomatoes are hand picked at their sun-ripened peak, carefully washed and sliced for drying in low heat wind tunnel dehydrators. Drying time is carefully monitored to retain the rich red color and high nutritional value of the tomatoes. Seventeen pounds of fresh tomatoes equals one pound of dried tomatoes. L'Esprit tomatoes have a sweet, robust flavor and a soft, chewy texture.

L'Esprit products have no sulphur or preservatives used in the processing and they are Kosher Certified. L'Esprit Sun-Ripened Dried Tomatoes Dried Fruits are popular today in recipes varying from salads, pastas, soups, and baked goods - any dish that demands intense flavor!
